[Bug]: On mobile sometimes links open tabs to (possibly?) ads

Issue raised by Paul Browne in WebEx chat:

> There’s a bug on the mobile version of the site-occasionally I’ll click on a link to related content or in the top 10 stories and instead it’ll open a new tab with content from what I assume is an ad somewhere else on the page.

> When I return to the site, none of the links on the page works at all until I refresh (and sometimes even that doesn’t work and I have to open a new tab). iPhone 7 running iOS 14.7.1 on Safari.

> The user's first email was in December but the issue is still happening for them
