Description

I had the very unpleasant revelation that gssproxy cannot fetch user credentials, even when run as root, when using the sssd-kcm as a KCM backend.

https://github.com/SSSD/sssd/issues/9083

I didn't see much documentation on the matter in this repo, I'm wondering if this is a known issue and how most people go about it.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the existing docs/ directory and the linked SSSD issue 9083 to establish how the KCM backend behaves with gssproxy. Done means confirming whether this is a known limitation and documenting the supported approach for obtaining user credentials, if the project can determine one.
