Description

Currently, the legends are designed for quantitative data, even though it is possible to plot categorical data.
It would be nice to have a legend type for categorical data when characters/factors are supplied instead of numbers.

Research direction

Start by locating the plot_taxonomy entry point and reading how legends are currently built for quantitative data. Trace the path used when characters or factors are supplied, then determine how a categorical legend should be represented. The work is done when categorical plots display an appropriate legend without disrupting quantitative legends.
