Description

It would be good to have gren format leave the line endings as is, preserving CRLF (\r\n) newlines, rather than changing them all to just LF (\n).

Notes:

  • How should this interact with --validate?

Related to #42.

Research direction

Start at the gren format command and inspect how it reads and writes line endings, including the --validate path. Use the behavior described here and related issue #42 to determine the expected interaction, then verify that CRLF input remains CRLF while LF input remains LF.
