Description

Currently, Build.fromExposed and Build.fromPaths use Reporting.trackBuild directly to produce output during build. This is problematic because there is no way to run the compiler in a silent mode or to defer some of the reporting until after the compilation to check for postconditions.

This should be fixed by separating the reporting functionality from the compiler.

Research direction

Start by reading Build.fromExposed and Build.fromPaths, focusing on their direct uses of Reporting.trackBuild. Trace how reporting is coupled to compilation and determine the external boundary needed to support silent compilation and post-compilation checks. Done means reporting is separated from the compiler, with both deferred reporting and silent execution possible.
