Research direction

Reproduce the problem in the restaurant exploration/browse section, then search the React Native customer app for the restaurant card and its Favorite or heart button. The fix is complete when tapping the heart adds or removes the restaurant from favorites without opening the restaurant details page, and both favorite states can be verified.
