The application is asking for a specific language to select and when the user does that, the whole application gets reloaded.

the application should be able to picked the language the system is already using and make it its default language.

Start by locating the customer application's language-selection logic and the code that reloads the application after a choice. Check how the system language is detected and used as the default. Done means the application selects the system language automatically and does not unnecessarily reload when applying that default.
