GraphQL Trademark

I'm curious about the use of the name GraphQL. I'm about to start some serious GraphQL projects, and I want to know if I can use the name GraphQL in my project names, domain names, GitHub repos etc.

I see that there are a couple registered trademarks in the US with the name GraphQL, including GraphQL itself registered by Facebook.

Is there any information on trademarks and the usage of the name GraphQL?

Would it be appropriate for the name to be open sourced as well, or for documentation and usage rights on the name to be placed in the spec? This is useful information that I haven't really been able to find.
