Annotated canvases

The ability to add text and simple shapes (boxes, lines) to the node network canvas would be beneficial. This feature could be used to visually group and label distinct portions of the network, either as an organizational aid, or for use in preparing figures. It could also lead to possible extensions such as the ability to selectively close widget menus within a box.
