Description

Maybe it's just me but there is something in the italics that doesn't quite feels right.

I think it's either how Soran's (LEFT) "d", "b" and "l"s ascenders distract from the reading. The antique look is amazing, but I think it deters a bit the readability. I'm using Crimson Pro (RIGHT) as an example of what I think top legibility in serifs looks. Instead of arching to the right the ascenders are more straight and aiming to the left. Maybe that could be an option to explore?

And from a readability standpoint I think that some letterforms feel a bit inconsistent. I'm no typographer but I used "ocean" as an example to test similar looking letterforms. Soran's "e", "a" and "c" look similar, but then there is a bit of a different shape for the "o".

As a display typeface that antique look is beautiful, but for long reads these features distract from the reading imo.

All in all, beautiful work!
