How are the parametrics axes set? (YTUC, YTLC, YTFI etc)

Hey folks,

I'm curious how these axes are set. If I inspect the designspace, the default values and ranges don't really make sense to me

The default values also don't match what we've got in the GF Axis registry, https://github.com/google/fonts/tree/main/axisregistry which makes it difficult to derive nice fvar instances.
