Description

### Introduce yourself

Hello, my name is Nathan Hale and I'm a Technology Fellow with Deloitte Digital, currently in the early stages of building a mobile app for a transit agency.

### Ask a question

Currently, GTFS-Realtime offers support for wheelchair accessibility through fields like wheelchair_accessible in VehicleDescriptor and wheelchair_boarding in Stop. Additionally, GTFS-Pathways has a number of allowances for this sort of functionality, but the current operational state of them doesn't seem to be reflected in GTFS-Realtime.

Would there be a possibility of expanding GTFS-Realtime to additional types of accessibility beyond just wheelchairs? For example, indicating that a stop has an escalator (and a corresponding GTFS-Realtime field for its current status) could be useful to parents with a stroller, or someone for whom stairs might not be accessible but an escalator would, and they could choose a different route/stop if that service was out of order.
