Tabs text cut off on small devices

The layout as such seems to be very well responsive, including the navigation. But this seems not to be true for the tabs. If the content of the tab navigation is wider than the screen, the text of each tab just gets cut off a bit. See secreenshot below (in contrast, the desired behaviour as it is the case for the navigation, would be that the tabs are scrollable, as it is the case in Angular Material):
