EB Garamond Regular– random glyphs in Illustrator?

Hi – I'm getting an issue with EB Garamond Regular (both static and variable) where once the font is installed (in Extensis Connect), when I try to use it in Adobe Illustrator, the glyphs don't match what I'm typing.

I've removed and reinstalled the font, but the same happens. Other weights and Italics seem to be unaffected.

Can anyone suggest a fix if it's likely an Adobe setting, or is this an issue with the font?
