This week @alexeiva updated Brawler sources and now it can be built as a variable font (see comment at https://github.com/cyrealtype/Brawler/commit/6cf6f3f5282a103221fcb1ff53a366a02d07054a#commitcomment-152884343)
@chrissimpkins, I believe this could be an easy update with the benefit of making it available as a VF.
