Cairo Play loaded locally freezes browser page.

**Describe the bug**
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.
When loading Cairo Play locally (from font book) meaning without using link tag or an import statement, the web page freezes in google chrome. The font also fails to load in Safari. The font does load in FireFox and also works fine in LibreOffice.

**To Reproduce**
Steps to reproduce the behavior.
In google Chrome or Safari web browser,
Have an element that uses 'Cairo Play' as font-family such as:

The chrome tab fails to load and becomes unresponsive to refresh attempts.

**Expected behavior**
The font should load as normal when loading from locally installed fonts as it does when using either a link tag or an import statement.

OS: MacOS BigSur 11.7.2
Chrome Version 109.0.5414.87 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Safari Version 16.2 (16614.3.7.1.7, 16614)
