Can't load KumarOne-Regular.ttf with FreeType: execution context too long

I was playing around, testing a piece of code to compute similarity of fonts, and noticed in the process that FreeType can't render KumarOne-Regular.ttf.

The error is "execution context too long".

I've seen a reference to (possibly related) issues with the font here:

I haven't seen a similar report on [FreeType's bug tracker](https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/freetype/freetype/-/issues) and since the issue didn't occur with any other font in my reach, I'm raising it here.
