pretty bad aspect of rendering a variable font in Chrome on Android

I am not really sure if it belongs here but it has something to do with fonts and google, so maybe.

As I have searched the internet, it seems that there is no way how to disable variable fonts aligning to pixels. Please see the attached video (the font has no hinting included)

It seems that there is a certain threshold where the rasterizer's settings are switched. It works well in bigger sizes and bad in smaller (which don't seem that small in the video)

Is there/will be there CSS attribute to disable pixel aligning or to change threshold where settings of the rasterizer are switched? Or is there something I can include in the font so it can tell the rasterizer "Hey, don't align me to pixels or anything close to that" ?
