**Super short description of the upgrade:**

This rebases Iosevka Charon Mono onto upstream Iosevka v34.8.1, picking up several upstream releases of glyph additions and shape refinements since the version currently live on Google Fonts.

Highlights:

- **New characters**, including WHITE HEAVY CHECK MARK (`U+2705`), NEGATIVE SQUARED CROSS MARK (`U+274E`), LATIN SMALL LETTER R WITHOUT HANDLE (`U+AB47`), LATIN SMALL LETTER R WITH CROSSED-TAIL (`U+AB49`), SYMBOL FOR SUBSTITUTE FORM TWO (`U+2426`), LATIN CAPITAL/SMALL LETTER VISIGOTHIC Z (`U+A762`–`U+A763`), the tresillo/cuatrillo range (`U+A72A`–`U+A72F`), sideways U brackets (`U+2E26`–`U+2E27`), and turned o open-o (`U+AB43`–`U+AB44`).
- **Extensive shape refinements** across Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and IPA — notably the breve and inverted-breve families (`U+0102`–`U+0217`, plus the Greek perispomeni and vrachy ranges), the ezh family, the Cyrillic `d`/`l`/`r` families, and a broad pass over stroked and small-capital letterforms in 34.8.1.
- **Upstreamed design work.** Variants this project previously carried as local patches on top of Iosevka (narrow bent hooks, dense ellipsis) were merged into upstream Iosevka (be5invis/Iosevka#3132, #3133, #3135), so the build now tracks a clean upstream release tag with no local source divergence.

No changes to the family's glyph coverage targets, naming, vertical metrics, or licensing.

QA: fontspector (googlefonts profile) reports 0 FAIL across all 16 binaries, unchanged from the previously onboarded release. The report is attached to the release as `iosevka-charon-google-fonts-qa-report.zip`.

**Bugs reported in this repo which this upgrade would fix:**

None — I am not aware of any open google/fonts issues for this family. The previous onboarding issues (#10245 for Iosevka Charon, #10247 for Iosevka Charon Mono) are closed.

One metadata note for this update: upstream Iosevka's copyright moved to `2015-2026`, so the fonts in this release carry `Copyright 2015-2026 The Iosevka Project Authors (https://github.com/be5invis/Iosevka)` in their name table. `ofl/iosevkacharonmono/METADATA.pb` currently records the `2015-2025` form, so the `copyright` fields will need updating to match the new binaries.
