Hello Falken demo does not launch AI evaluation

I built the demo from source and ran it. i cannot seem to train the AI with prolonged play and when i start the evaluation process, the console gets flooded with this error:

i don't know how this came to be, but i built the project as listed in the readmes.

Start with the Hello Falken demo and the build and run steps in the README, then reproduce the evaluation launch after prolonged play. Use the console error shown in the attached screenshot to trace the failure; done means the evaluation process launches without flooding the console and the demo can train and evaluate as described.
