Feature Request - Scratch Pad w/ Markdown Preview

I've been trying to find a use for the middle panel for my glance instance and I think I found a really good one - the ability to have a scratch pad that can be either displayed in Markdown or edited with a text box. If you don't want to prioritize new widgets I could consider making an extension that does this although it doesn't look like the extension support doesn't look like it can support something like this yet.
