Description

Bug description

The avatar on my account isn't displayed - even though I've got both GitHub and GitLab set up, I think that I initially signed up with GitLab as the avatar URL is https://assets.gitlab-static.net/uploads/-/system/user/avatar/428789/avatar.png.

Steps to reproduce

Hypothetically, create a new account with GitLab. This is something outside of user control so I'm not entirely sure how the URL is decided.

Workspace affected

n/a

Expected behavior

It should display my beautiful face as the avatar

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the account avatar resolution and GitLab authentication handling, then reproduce with a GitLab-created account; done means the GitLab avatar is displayed consistently and the behavior is covered by an appropriate regression test.
