Description

Describe the bug

Previously, my powershell prompt opens with a dark background (even though my windows apps theme is light). And then copilot would honor this and stay with a dark background. With a recent update, copilot immediately switches to a light background and I don't see a way to force it to stay dark.

Affected version

GitHub Copilot CLI 1.0.84-8.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Start a new copilot session with Windows in light mode for apps.

Expected behavior

Copilot stays dark background or provides me with a way to configure it to do so.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in a new GitHub Copilot CLI session on Windows with the apps theme set to light and a PowerShell prompt using a dark background. Trace how the CLI selects its terminal theme and identify the existing configuration or theme behavior; done means the session stays dark or exposes a documented way to force it.
