Description

I cannot change the default branch naming convention used by the GitHub Copilot app. This is very annoying because the app initially signed in / attached to my GitHub account, so it always uses my GitHub account name in branch name. I don't want to use my GitHub account name; I want to use my Microsoft.com account name.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the account sign-in and attachment flow for the /chat path, focusing on how the GitHub account name becomes the default branch-name identity. Confirm how the Microsoft.com account is represented, then define the setting or behavior needed to choose it. Done means the app can use the selected account name rather than always using the GitHub account name.
