Description

Short summary

Clicking the "Maximize Pane" button within the Canvas view forces the application into fullscreen mode. Once maximized, all standard window controls (minimize, restore, un-maximize) disappear from the UI, making it impossible to restore the window back to its original layout through the interface.

Affected version or release

v1.1.10

Installation context

No response

What happened?

Clicking the "Maximize Pane" button within the Canvas view forces the application into fullscreen mode. Once maximized, all standard window controls (minimize, restore, un-maximize) disappear from the UI, making it impossible to restore the window back to its original layout through the interface.

Steps to reproduce

Open the GitHub Copilot app and navigate to the Canvas view.

Click the Maximize Pane button on a pane.

The app/pane expands to fill the entire screen.

Attempt to locate or click any UI control to minimize, restore, or un-maximize the view.

Expected behavior

The maximize button should toggle the pane size while retaining visible window management options (or providing an explicit "Restore" icon) to return to the standard view.

Additional context

Actual Behavior
The interface expands into fullscreen and hides all window management controls. There is no visible option to minimize, restore, or exit the maximized state.

Workaround / Additional Context
Currently, the window can only be repositioned or navigated away from using system keyboard shortcuts (e.g., moving the window across monitors or switching tabs), but the internal pane view remains permanently locked in full screen.

Environment
App: GitHub Copilot App
OS: Windows

I have been installing the new versions and nothing has changed since this happened.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in the GitHub Copilot app's Canvas view on Windows, focusing on the Maximize Pane button and the transition into fullscreen. Trace the pane's maximize state and its visible controls; done means maximizing and restoring the pane both work through the interface without losing window management options.
