Description
Hi, I use /compact a lot to avoid context window issues and I have one suggestion:
The plan usage hint:
Is nearly useless for us company employees I think, the limit is quite large and the UI never shows any useful value (at least for me).
What is very much useful though is the context window usage, I always keep clicking and expanding in the "session details" view at the top:
From there I can see the current context window usage and what components are using what portion, in order to decide if it's good time to invoke compact or rather start another session etc.
It would be awesome if we could configure the app to replace the wasted plan usage hint with context window hint. It can carry the same information as in the details block by rendering as a multiple-colored-sections circle, ie. we'd know at a glance how much we consumed for messages, how much is free space etc. mouse hover would then give us same info as in the session details pane.

Research direction
Start by examining the plan usage hint and the session details view described in the issue, then trace where their displayed usage data comes from. Determine how the app could expose context-window usage in the hint and whether the replacement should be configurable. Done means the hint presents the requested context usage breakdown and supports the stated interaction.
