Description
Changes say they are being made, but actually aren't.
Basically no actual changes are made to the file system. The AI response is that changes were made, etc. But then I check with it, and it says nothing was done. So I ask it to make the changes, it says it made them, but doesn't. This is in a loop. Happens on differnet machines, different LLMs. No idea what else to add. Maybe that this has only happened in the last week or so and I'm now on 1.1.8 and its still a problem.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in the desktop app's /chat path using version 1.1.8 on Windows 10. Check whether an AI response claiming file changes is followed by any filesystem change; done means the reported changes are actually present, or the app accurately reports when no change occurred.
