Description
Hi Copilot team,
I’d like to request support for grouping projects/repositories in the Copilot app.
I often work in environments where one product spans multiple repositories (for example: frontend, backend, services, and shared libraries). As the project list grows, it becomes harder to navigate and switch sessions efficiently.
It would be very helpful to have:
Custom project groups/folders (group related repositories under one parent)
Collapse/expand groups in the sidebar
Optional tags or labels for cross-cutting organization (team, domain, priority)
Remembered sort/filter preferences within groups
This would improve organization, reduce session-switching time, and make day-to-day use much smoother for multi-repo work.

Research direction
No source file or test is named. Start by examining the Copilot app's /chat project and repository navigation and current sidebar behavior. Done means users can create, collapse, and expand custom groups, apply optional labels, and retain sorting and filtering preferences.
