Description

While most people involved in this project (and commented on https://github.com/git/git-scm.com/issues/2046) seem to like the current color scheme, we agree the site looks dated.

Modernize the look and feel. One thing we're thinking about is moving from a serif to a sans-serif font.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the current git-scm.com website and the discussion linked in issue #2046 to identify an agreed visual direction. Done requires a defined, approved scope for the modernized look and feel, including whether the typography should change, followed by corresponding website updates.
