Description

Is it possible to encrypt entire file with SOPS? E.g. i would like to protect sensitive source code and not just API keys in .yaml files or similar. Is it possible to encrypt e.g. 5 or 10 whole .py files?

Kind regards,
Jim

Research direction

The issue asks whether SOPS can encrypt entire .py files instead of only structured secret files, but it names no implementation entry point or test. Start by reviewing the repository's documented input formats and CLI behavior; done would require a decided approach for whole-file encryption and corresponding verification.
