[Feature Request] Resolve issue in "Upcoming release"

### Problem Statement

At present, there are four available methods for resolving an issue, as illustrated in the screenshot provided below:

Unfortunately, it's currently impossible to address an issue in any forthcoming release according to Semantic Versioning (SemVer).

This functionality would be beneficial because the subsequent release might be a patch (SemVer) rather than the anticipated minor release in which the issue is slated to be rectified.
