Menu: Geany issue

### Explain the issue and what happens

On FreeBSD 16, after opening System Preferences, then starting Geany (non Menu supported application).
Close Geany, then Close System Preferences.

System Preferences will hang on the Menu, Menu updates stop (no RAM/CPU) updates until the entire X session is killed. Approx 15 seconds.

During reproducibility efforts, running glances/top in terminal shows that Menu pins the CPU and consumes all available RAM.
