Description
### Version
20260815
### Explain the issue and what happens
The menu bar for Emacs displays properly but seemingly none of it's entries are functional. they all do nothing. Emacs itself works fine, including the gnustep specific commands, just the menu bar doesn't do anything.

The whole also seems to be somewhat laggier or glitchier for emacs specifically, but that might just be me.
It works fine on vanilla GNUstep so this is a seemingly Gershwin specific issue
### Explain how to reproduce the bug?
Build GNU Emacs for GNUstep, run it, try to get to the about screen or open a game etc. using the menu bar.
### What is the Expected behavior (if applicable)
the menu bar buttons should work normally and do stuff, as they do on vanilla GNUstep
### Additional context (if applicable)
Emacs was cloned from the github mirror of the git upstream (github.com/emacs-mirror/emacs)

Research direction
No source file or test is named in the report. First reproduce the issue by building GNU Emacs for GNUstep and using its menu bar, then compare the same actions on vanilla GNUstep. Done means menu entries perform their expected actions without the reported lag or high CPU behavior.
