Layout for Circular Organogram / Org Chart

I was inspired by Nathan Yau's post about Peter Cook's beautiful circular org charts (AKA organogram) in the UK:

I'd like to do the same with 2000 people in my organization to be able to share a clear picture of the communication pathways between divisions.

Is there anything already capable of doing this within Gephi, or do I need to learn D3?
