Description
**Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.**
The dynamic map search behaviour (zoom to search results) makes it difficult to define a search area. I have a consistent request from GeoCat customers to adjust the map to an area of interest.
**Describe the solution you'd like**
I would like to define an area of interest for the map in settings, if supplied it would disable the zoom to search results functionality.
As an example setting the map to display Australia when working on a national catalogue:

**Describe alternatives you've considered**
I have considered just having a yes/no setting to disable zoom to search results, defaulting to displaying the whole worlds. This is quicker to implement, but does not match our geonetwork user base which often deploys national, regional or municipal catalogues.
**Additional context**
The map is only displayed once a search has been performed, clearing the text (so all records are shown again) leaves the map on the screen.

Research direction
The issue names no files or tests. Start by tracing the map search and settings entry points in the repository, then verify that a supplied area of interest prevents zooming to search results while the existing behavior remains unchanged when it is absent.
