Description

When creating new metadata. Going through "contribute" -> "add new record"
We are presented with a "Create a" and "create a dataset" such as the following.

Some users are confused by this screen as they don't initially figure out that the icons are simply search option.

I believe the interface would be better if it was a general facet like on the "editor board" that would allow filtering based on "METADATA STANDARD", "TYPE OF RESOURCES", "CATEGORIES", "OWNER"...
By default no facets should be selection and all templates should be displayed(up to max items per page).

Research direction

Start by inspecting the metadata creation screen reached through “contribute” → “add new record” and compare it with the facet behavior on the editor board. Done means the screen presents the requested facet categories, shows all templates when no facet is selected, and limits results to the configured maximum per page.
