Description
In the tmap4 paper, we split Map components into:
- Auxiliary layers: tm_basemap, tm_tiles, tm_grid, tm_graticule
- Map components: the rest
The question is should we also do it here? Or should we just split tm_grid and tm_graticule, while explain tm_basemap and tm_tiles in the later chapters (about interactive maps)?

Research direction
Compare the tmap4 paper's split with the current book chapters and their treatment of tm_basemap, tm_tiles, tm_grid, and tm_graticule. Decide whether all four belong in Auxiliary layers or whether tm_grid and tm_graticule should be separated, then reorganize the relevant explanations so the chosen structure is consistent.
