Description
I have the Xserve G5 rackmount parts, and I've installed the outer shell in my rack, but now I need to actually put the G5 into my rack, and figure out how to remote control it.
I have VGA and USB, and IP KVMs with the same connectors... I also have the cable management arm, and a long Apple power cable. I'll need to make a custom length Ethernet cable to plug it into my 2.5G rackmount switch.
So, some things to do:
- [x] Physically mount the server in the enclosure in the rack
- [x] Route power and Ethernet cables to the G5
- [ ] Figure out remote control (IP KVM? Which one?)
- [ ] Find a good way to jack in, while in the rack room too, maybe

Research direction
No repository files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by comparing the available IP KVM options and ways to connect locally in the rack room; done means remote control and a practical local access method have been selected and documented for the Xserve G5.
