## Original Post
Hi everyone,
I ran out of space in my 19” 6U network box, so instead of upgrading to a larger one, I decided to design a custom 10” 3D-printed server rack. Owning a 3D printer and having plenty of leftover filament from previous projects made this a fun and practical solution.
Project Goals:
- Easy to 3D-print with minimal filament usage
- Expandable vertically or horizontally
- Portable
Some parts are designed from scratch using [Tinkercad](https://www.tinkercad.com/), while others are based on existing designs but heavily modified to fit my home lab setup.
This project is still a work in progress, and the STL files are not yet ready for release. Once complete, all STL files will be shared on [Printables](https://www.printables.com/@MRP_262078) and [MakersWorld](https://makerworld.com/en/@TheMRP).
I’ll keep posting progress updates along the way!
Current State (Alpha):

p.s.
On the same day when i decided to post my project to [r/HomeLab](https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab/comments/1i3qfm6/3d_printed_10_server_rack_everything_is_plastic/) Jeff publishes his [MINI RACK Revolution](https://youtu.be/y1GCIwLm3is?si=jD_6ej7U1FgR9MIv) video. This is way to much of coincidence :)
## Update "almost there"
3D Printed couple more parts.
Now i have mounting holes on the side and back. This gives me so many options to take this "Galaxy Rack" to the next level.

## Galaxy Is here
After weeks of printing, reprinting, designing parts - i am finally reached the point where i can say that i've completed (_almost_) my 3D Printable Mini Rack.
All rack structure is 3D printed from PETG. Only two cables comes in: power and RJ45.
