Description
I realised that the [Waveshare 8 inch](https://www.waveshare.com/8dp-caplcd.htm) HDMI display just fits within 3U space, with enough space to the side for some switches or panel mount connections.
In my current setup I have a panel mount HDMI port that I can connect to a Pi or Jetson using a short HDMI cable. The display is also a touch-screen, which can be connected via USB.
Annoyingly, as the height is only just under 3U, there isn't much space above and below for a very wide front panel, meaning it can flex a lot unless it's metal or really thick.
Anyone else found screens that fit nicely? I am still figuring out what else to add alongside the display (USB panel mount for the touch-screen connection is on the list).
3U feels slightly wasteful - but it does mean there is room behind to hide things like routers, antenna brackets or other non rack mounted devices.
