My Endgame minirack cluster

Finally finished my build. Wife approved :)
My endgame is done — for now :)

Rack №1

- ASRock X570D4U-2L2T + Ryzen 5655GE + 48GB DDR4
- ASRock B650D4U + Ryzen 7900 + 64GB DDR5

Rack №2

- 8" display with a mini PC (N305) behind it. The display shows disk info, internet speed, and load — all through a Grafana dashboard
- 3 ESP32 displays
- UniFi XG 8 PoE
- UniFi Enterprise 8 PoE
- Various MacBook stuff (audio interface + CalDigit TS3 Plus)

Rack №3 — ASRock ROMED4ID-2T + EPYC 7D12 + 256GB DDR4

- 6 x 6TB WD Red Plus in RAIDZ2 — media pool
- 6 x 1.92TB enterprise SSDs in RAIDZ2 — for PBS

This is my main workhorse. A homelabber's dream.
I changed the cTDP to 105W and got 64 threads at 2500 MHz.

A 3-node cluster + a mini PC.
I run a small data analysis business, so some of what's here is production services.
Average draw is 280W for all nodes plus networking.

In case of a power outage, the mini PC acts as the NUT server: it shuts down the power-hungry EPYC node and migrates all client VMs, bringing total draw down to 170W.
With my UPS + extended battery pack, that's good for roughly 4 hours :)

I used to have a 27U rack with 5 nodes. Shrinking down this much was an amazing adventure. I got an incredible amount of joy out of both the process and the result.

From 2–3 meters away you can't tell by sound whether the nodes are on. Nearly silent. At night in a quiet room you can make out some noise from 2 meters; during the day they're quieter than normal background noise :)
