Description

This is still very much a work in progress. All printable files will be published to my Printables account when finished. [https://www.printables.com/@Fortinbra_385908](https://www.printables.com/@Fortinbra_385908)

I wanted to try using the box of 2020 Aluminum extrusion I had sitting in my office. Because the slots in the extrusion are further out than a standard rack's mounting holes, I have designed custom ears for mounting everything, while keeping the 222.25mm distance between the uprights consistent. I am also keeping the distance between all uprights the same, so the rack is square, and can be mounted to from any side if necessary.

This stack-up starting from the bottom, is 1U of supports to keep the uprights square to each other. The next 2U is my ATX PSU (Work in Progress). Then a 2U mount for 16 2.5" drives with two 80mm fans. And finally, the top of the current stack, is an adapter plate so that I can print and use the modules from [https://github.com/JaredC01/LabStack](https://github.com/JaredC01/LabStack)

Research direction

No source file or test entry point is named. Review the 2020 extrusion dimensions, the current stack-up described here, and the linked LabStack modules to understand the remaining design work. Done means the rack design is finished and all printable files are published to the linked Printables account.
