Disabling LCD on DMG before invoking STOP leaves it enabled?

Description
Could we get some clarification on this? On the reducing power consumption page:
> On a DMG, disabling the LCD before invoking STOP leaves the LCD enabled, drawing a horizontal black line on the screen and very likely damaging the hardware.
If we disabled the LCD and then invoked STOP, we didn't "leave" the LCD enabled, did we? Or is this sentence claiming that STOP re-enables the LCD?
