Description
# Scope check: synthetic peptide reconstitution tutorial using a ToolShed wrapper
Hello Galaxy Training Network maintainers,
We prepared a small, learner-facing tutorial candidate that demonstrates a reproducible synthetic peptide reconstitution calculation in Galaxy. Before opening a pull request, we would appreciate guidance on whether the scope and placement are appropriate for the training-material repository.
The candidate is intentionally narrow:
- it uses synthetic, non-clinical example values;
- it runs a public ToolShed wrapper for a unit-safe reconstitution calculation;
- it shows the inputs, JSON output, and a short interpretation boundary;
- it links to the source implementation, documentation, and benchmark provenance;
- it does not use customer, patient, clinical, or experimental data.
Candidate files in the canonical public repository:
- [Tutorial](https://github.com/PeptidoMexico/peptidomexico-open-science/blob/main/packaging/galaxy-training/tutorial.md)
- [Metadata](https://github.com/PeptidoMexico/peptidomexico-open-science/blob/main/packaging/galaxy-training/metadata.yaml)
- [Submission notes](https://github.com/PeptidoMexico/peptidomexico-open-science/blob/main/packaging/galaxy-training/README.md)

Could you please advise:
1. whether this belongs in the proteomics or another existing GTN subtopic;
2. whether the tutorial should be tested against a specific Galaxy deployment or profile before a pull request;
3. whether any metadata, licensing, or review changes are required; and
4. whether a maintainer would be willing to review a PR once those requirements are met.
The materials are maintained by Péptido México Open Science. Péptido México is a commercial research-materials business; the tool and tutorial are for research-use-only education and reproducibility, with no clinical or therapeutic instructions. We are not requesting a link, stars, or promotional treatment—only feedback on whether the material is useful and compatible with GTN standards.
Thank you,
Péptido México Open Science

Research direction
Start by reviewing the linked tutorial.md, metadata.yaml, and README.md in the candidate repository, then compare them with the training-material repository's expectations. Done means receiving maintainer guidance on the appropriate subtopic, Galaxy deployment or profile, metadata and licensing requirements, and whether a pull request is welcome.
