Description

We did document for a while setting PYTHONHOME in the supervisor config.
If people still do this conda won't work. Should we perhaps specifically unset PYTHONHOME before calling conda?

Research direction

Start by locating the supervisor configuration and the code paths that invoke conda commands. Check how PYTHONHOME is inherited there and determine whether conda works when it is unset; done means the intended behavior is documented and verified for the affected command path.
