Flathub

Please consider publishing the desktop app on Flathub.

The .rpm and .deb run unsandboxed with full home access, which is more trust than a mail client’s packaging needs to ask for. A Flatpak would let you ship with portal-based access instead of blanket home access, and give users one artifact that works across distros. This shouldn't take long to implement at all.

Start by locating how the existing .rpm and .deb desktop packages are built and where the desktop app entry point is defined. Compare those packaging inputs with Flathub and Flatpak portal requirements; done means a published Flatpak artifact provides the app without blanket home access.
