Description
We need to search interdisciplinary databases - that are ideally free to access, and that offer high-quality data.
Below are my initial thoughts:
- First priorities to try
- Crossref (especially if this retrieves OSF preprints as well, see [tips](https://www.crossref.org/documentation/retrieve-metadata/rest-api/tips-for-using-the-crossref-rest-api/))
- OpenAlex (https://docs.openalex.org/, [supposedly](https://arxiv.org/abs/2404.17663) a 'superset' of scopus, though with limited data quality)
- Less ideal, but potentially useful:
- Google Scholar (comprehensive, but very messy data // scraping requires third-party tools like serpapi)
- Scopus (comprehensive and powerful API, but restricted to institutional networks of subscribing unis)
