Description

- experience with the mobile pass, the angst of having charge, partly solved by travelling with a powerbank and (but perhaps that's just me)

- reservations (and how they completely separate (noted by seat61 deep in an article but should be repeated); esp. since interrail does do some reservations (but despite the similar branding, it's still separate), and questioning whether the beta plus pass will solve anything (plus pricing isn't that good).

- the app vs website lack of sync

- using the in-app map and a word on google maps and trains

__What I liked section__

- it works quite well when it does
- the timetable is one of the best (much better for longer connections than most; similar to DB; much better than NS international)
- timetable is offline

__What I think can be improved__

- from above: reservations
- from above: app sync
- instruction video is a mess due to animations haha
- keeping day tickets offline
- activating and deactivating tickets on a pass, why necessary for continues passes? (Aside from the usefulness in planning; ticket isn't valid without activation), is this about commissions? But can activate overlapping...
- more offline features like keeping QR codes locally
- app reloads actively when switching between apps, losing internet funest
- from above: the map (for planning) is not great: zoom in way to far to see stations. Guess where the train tracks and supported routes are. Wished that the visualizations from the pdf were in the map.
- better hope you never get to deal with a large internet outage where trains keep moving haha
- trains: great; some pass advantages like ferries: yes; in some countries you will need connections like busses and this complicates planning

__Maybe do__

- trip report wrt the trains (maybe separate post, DB: great app, great planning even outside DB trains, lots of delays make planning in advance problematic (eg night trains). ICE's vs other high speed: DB does this right , makes it easy

__Won't do__

- not: cost comparison vs separate tickets
- not: cost of reservations differs depending on where you buy them
