No easy way to change Github repository URL

Github repository URL changed when the partner transferred ownership to the customer.
Before, it was https://github.com/ABCD11/repo now is https://github.com/EFGH12/repo
If I try to change the platform repository in the project record, a validation is blocking me.
The customer is constantly getting "background sync in progress" irrespective of the stage of work and you're not able to proceed with the creation of new work items.

This is a workaround suggested however there should be something in the platform that let you fix this kind of situation:

- _Got to Object Manager -> Repository__c -> Validation Rules -> 'No_Property_Changes' -> deactivate this
- Instead of trying to change the platform repository from project, click in the platform repository and change the variables in that repository
