Commit is hanging - stuck

**Describe the bug**
I selected metadata (custom fields) for a workitem Metadata started being committed to the feature branch. There were about 100 fields that were supposed to go. Dev Ops center still has the spinning gif saying commit in progress. When I look at the commit in the feature branch, there are 5 of 100 fields that were committed. I am absolutely stuck - again.

Start by reproducing the listed steps in DevOps Center with a work item containing about 100 metadata fields, then inspect the linked screenshot and feature-branch commit state. Done means all selected fields are committed and the commit-in-progress indicator clears; the issue does not name source files or tests.
